[ Applies to ] StorageGuard 9.x and later / HPE OneView / OneView REST API
StorageGuard collects configuration data from HPE OneView by opening an HTTPS connection to the OneView appliance and running read-only REST API calls. This article describes the requirements and how to create the scan account.

| Requirement | Details |

| OneView address | The network name or IP address of each HPE OneView server. |
| Credentials | A read-only OneView user account. Examples of REST API calls used: GET rest/version, GET rest/enclosures, and GET rest/interconnects. |
| Network access | HTTPS connectivity (port 443) from the StorageGuard server to each OneView server. |
Create a scan account
The following procedure is a suggested way to create a read-only user in the OneView web UI.
- From the main menu, select Appliance > Users and Groups, and then click Actions > Add.
- Enter the user name and password.
- Click Select a role, and assign the Read only role.
- For Scope, select All resources.
- Click Add to create the user account.
- Click Close.
