StorageGuard collects configuration data from RecoverPoint by running read-only CLI commands over SSH on the RecoverPoint appliance (RPA). This article describes the requirements and how to create the scan account.

| Requirement | Details |

| RPA address | The network name or IP address of one RPA in each RecoverPoint installation. |
| Credentials | A user name and password for the RPA. |
| Role and permissions | The account needs unlimited read-only rights that let it query all RPA configuration objects. |
| Network access | SSH connectivity from the StorageGuard server to each RPA. |
Create a scan account
The following procedure is a suggested way to create the scan account. The example uses the user name cntuser; you can use any user name.
- Log in to the RPA CLI over SSH with an administrator account.

Add the user. Replace
<type>with the user type:add_user type=<type> name=cntuser - Repeat these steps for each RecoverPoint installation that StorageGuard scans.
