Enable the management API
You enable the HCP management API at the system level, and control which clients can access it, on the Management API page of the System Management Console.
- Log in to the HCP System Management Console.
- Open the Management API page.
- Enable the management API.
- If you restrict access to the management API, make sure the StorageGuard server is allowed.
Create a scan account
The following procedure is a suggested way to create a system-level user with the Monitor role.
- Log in to the HCP System Management Console.
- Open the Users page.
- Click Create User Account.
- Enter the account details, and select the Monitor role.
- Save the account.
Tenant-level scanning (optional)
To include tenants in the scan, use one of the following:
- Allow the system-level scan account to access the tenant-level management API URL for each tenant.
- Create a user with the Monitor role in each tenant, and provide those accounts to StorageGuard.
