StorageGuard collects configuration data from HPE StoreOnce by opening HTTPS and SSH connections to each StoreOnce system, and running read-only REST API calls and CLI commands. This article describes the requirements and how to create the scan account.

Requirements
| Requirement | Details |

| System address | The network name or IP address of each StoreOnce system. |
| Credentials | A user name and password for each StoreOnce system, with the Observer role. |
| Permissions | Examples of REST API calls used: system/information, cifs-server, and syslog-servers. Example of a CLI command used: nas show share. |
| Network access | HTTPS (port 443) and SSH (port 22) connectivity from the StorageGuard server to each StoreOnce system. |
Create a scan account
The following procedure is a suggested way to create the scan account. The example uses the user name sguser; you can use any user name.
- Log in to the StoreOnce CLI over SSH with an administrator account.

Create the user. Replace both
<password>placeholders with the account password:accounts add sguser level user newpassword <password> <password> - Repeat these steps on each StoreOnce system that StorageGuard scans.
