This article lists the requirements for a StorageGuard deployment: the master server, the StorageGuard database, and collector servers. Use the sizing tables to match each server to the number of systems you plan to scan.

Master server requirements
General requirements

Note: Apache Tomcat and the JRE can be installed on the master server as part of the StorageGuard installation process.
Tip: For best performance, use internal SSD drives and dedicate the allocated resources to the StorageGuard servers. If the database runs on a separate server, connect the master server and the database server to the same switch.

Resource requirements: application and database
You can run the StorageGuard application and database on the same host. Use this table to size a combined host.

Database requirements
The master server stores system configuration and the data collected from your IT systems in a database. You can install the database locally on the master server or on a remote host. StorageGuard supports PostgreSQL and Oracle.
Note: If the database runs on the master server, size that host using Resource requirements: application and database.
