[ Applies to ] StorageGuard 9.2 and later / All supported storage, backup, SAN and cloud systems / Windows and Linux deployments
StorageGuard keeps every scan's data, so the database grows with time. A few tools under System Tools keep it healthy: the history cleaner trims old data, the analyzer tunes performance, and the restart tool restarts the application without losing anything. The support tool packages system information for Core6.

Open the tools
Go to Settings > Admin > System Tools.
The tools
| Tool | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| History Cleaner | Removes historical data to reduce the database size. | When the database grows large, or on a schedule you set through system properties. |
| Analyzer | Optimizes the database for performance. It also runs automatically with every full cycle. | After large changes, such as onboarding many systems, or when the interface slows down. |
| Support tool | Collects system information, including database and log files, into a package saved on the server. | When Core6 Support asks for it. For scan-specific issues, see Send a support bundle. |
| Database views | Validates and generates read-only database views for integrations and reporting. | Only if you use database views; they're disabled by default. |
Restart StorageGuard
The restart tool restarts the Apache Tomcat service and reloads the database. It takes under a minute and keeps all settings and data. Use it after changing settings that need a restart, such as a new web certificate, and run it outside scan and analysis windows so no task is interrupted.
You can also schedule a restart as a task under Settings > Schedule.
Tune housekeeping
How much history the cleaner keeps, and how the support tool behaves, are set in the Housekeeping category of system properties. See Change system properties.
